For those of you wondering what comes in the NBA 2k13 Dynasty edition we have created a list below and also included Barnes’ unboxing video.

Retail copy of NBA 2K1

All-new downloadable NBA 2K13 All-Star add-on content presented by Sprite

An exclusive NBA 2K13 full-sized basketball from Spalding® and Art of Basketball,

Exclusive 2K Sports Ink’d earbuds from Skullcandy, and

NBA 2K13 basketball textured controller skin from Skinit.

This has to be the the most popular question I get to my inbox each year. 2k heads are always asking an wondering how do I throw an alley oop in NBA 2k13. For those of you who don’t want the long winded explanation, jump to the bottom and you will get your answer. For the others of you looking for the science and the most opportune times, keep reading.

The alley-oop is by far the most exciting (for the individual on offense) and equally most frustrating and humiliating act (for the defender) in NBA 2k13. While we all wish we could just run through the middle of the lane and toss the alley oop to the backdoor cutter, it isn’t always that simple.

Without surveying the court and your environment you are doomed to throw the inevitable botched alley oop,and tosses into the front row of the crowd. If I had to pick the best time to throw and alley-oop it would without a doubt be on the fast break. The reason I say this is because you don’t have the clutter and congestion of the lane. The fast break gives you the best opportunity to execute the elusive off the glass alley oop either to yourself or two a railing teammate. But let me back track a little because I am getting ahead of myself.

The two biggest factors in the success of an alley oop in NBA 2k13 is the guy passing the ball and the guy catching the ball. If you doubt me, try throwing an alley oop on the break with Tim Duncan as the passer and Tony Parker as the dunker/finisher. Yes! Yes! I know the example is a little extreme but sometimes you have to be extreme to make a point obvious. I guess what I am trying to say is that for a dunk to be successful you need someone with a good pass rating and an good/great dunk rating I recommend a Deron Willliams to Gerald Wallace or Gerald Green (he is my preference). If you think about it its pretty simple, you need someone who can get the ball where it needs to be and someone who can catch it and slam it home.

For those of you wanting to execute the alley oop on a 5 on 5 face up defense, my recommendation is don’t But, if you have to, and you want to, its best trying to execute this move with either a pick and roll (the dunker being the roller) or a backdoor pick (the Clippers and Heat have a nice play set for this). These are two of you best options when trying to increase your chances of a successful execution.

For some tips that have seemed to carry forward from NBA 2k12 to NBA 2k13 see our How do you throw an Alley oop in NBA 2k12 article.

But without further a due here is the button combination for throwing and alley oop in NBA 2k13.

How to Execute a Regular Alley-oop in NBA 2k13

Hold the left trigger to choose your recipient (L2 on PS3) and press X and A (x and square on PS3)

How do you throw and off the glass Alley-oop to myself?

If you thought throwing an alley oop from one player to another was tricky this one is even trickier and highly recommended for you to attempt on the break or a wide open lane. To execute this move push the left stick towards the rim and press X and A (X and O on the PS3)

For those of you wondering what MyTEam is. The best way I can describe it is by saying it the virtual equivalent of being in a fantasy league. In the MyTeam mode you build a team by purchasing players, the biggest difference between my team and the fantasy equivalent is that your purchases are not limited to current players, your hard earned money can be used to purchase legends. Within the MyTeam feature there is an online component (Road to the Playoffs) and an offline component (exhibition games). While I could continue ruining what the come by telling you about booster pack and the like why don’t you peep the video below to get it true insights rom producer Erick Boenisch.

NBA 2k13 is set to be released on October 2 2013. In order to keep our appetite wet 2ksports has release the official trailer for NBA 2k13. The trailer opens up the infamous tack by Puff Daddy andt eate Biggie Smalls -Victory. which makes on wonder if this a subliminal jab/shot over the brow at NBA live.

Some of the highlights we like from NBA 2k13 Official trailer video are:

The infamous KG push up form the 2012 playoffs against the Miami Heat.

Ray Allen adorning the Miami Heat Jersey (not some we like but it is noteworthy).

Javale Mcgee on the break showboating

2ksports letting the N word play in the track (1:00 mark – again not something we love, just noteworthy).

KEvin Love making the trailer!

There are just a few that got us excited. But let us know what you think by leaving your comments below. An also check the trailer out below:

Personally I feel a rating of 87 is a little on the high side for Blake Griffin. I mean when it all boils down to it, Blake can dunk and he can rebound not much beyond that. His shot is mediocre at best, his passing is non existent (237 fir the year, he had more fouls than assist), and his defense is meh. But Blake seem to think otherwise. See the video about Blake Griffins perception on his 87 rating.

Only days ago, 2ksports announced Jay-Z as their new executive producer. As a result it was only right that they followed up with the highly anticipated track list. As speculate din our earlier post about Jay Z’s announcement as executive produce, their are no young money affiliates on the track list. Which you can take with a grain a salt but for some of the biggest power houses in the game not to be included, one cant help but feel the underlying tone of resentment. Maybe they can lock down the track list for live? But none the less the track list seems to be a good one, that highly injected and littered with many of Hov’s biggest hits (6 of 24 tracks) and close Roc Nation friends and associates(12+ tracks). Below is the high anticipated list in no particular order.

The Hours – Ali in the Jungle

Too Short – Blow the Whistle (Main)

Eric B. and Rakim – I Ain’t No Joke

Phoenix – 1901

JAY Z – Pump it Up (Freestyle)

Puff Daddy and the Family – Victory (feat. Notorious B.I.G. & Busta Rhymes)

Daft Punk – Around The World (Radio Edit)

Santigold – Shove It (feat. Spank Rock)

Kanye West – Amazing

JAY Z – Run This Town

The Dirty Projectors – Stillness is the Move

Nas – The World is Yours

Coldplay – Viva La Vida

Roy Ayers – We Live in Brooklyn, Baby

Justice – Stress

JAY Z – The Bounce

Kanye West – We Major (feat. Nas & Really Doe)

Mobb Deep – Shook Ones, Pt. II

Meek Mill – Ima Boss – Instrumental

Kanye West – Mercy (feat. Big Sean, Pusha T, and 2 Chainz)

U2 – Elevation

JAY Z – On To The Next One

JAY Z – Public Service

JAY Z – H.A.M. (Instrumental)
