How do you throw an Alley oop in NBA 2k14

NBA 2k14 Lebron Dunk

As we draw nearer to the release of NBA 2k14, a few things always happen.

  1. Site visits start to go on the steady incline.
  2. The average email in my inbox about NBA 2k usually doubles.
  3. Without fail the email asking about how to throw and alley oop in NBA 2k14 become nauseating.

However, despite it all I love the emails I get form you guys, I wake up every morning looking forward to them (III   apologize to some of the slow replies lately).  However, my communication is with the community is not the focus of this post. Rather, its about number three in that list, “How do you throw an alley oop in NBA 2k14.”

Rather than bore you with details I figure I would just provide a link to my previous article around the best circumstance to throw an alley oop in.

I have heeded your comments and emails rom last year and we are just going to get down to it and not beat around the bush.  Below are the button combination for throwing a ‘successful’ alley oop in NBA 2k14.

To throw an Alley oop on NBA 2k14 for the PS3:

Hold L2 and press square

To throw and alley oop on NBA 2k14 for Xbox 360:

Hold the left trigger and press X

For the best time to throw and alley opp,s ee my article from last year titled How do you throw an Alley oop in NBA 2k13”

Note: We will continue to update this article with more alley-opp tip for NBa 2k14 once we have tested them out thoroughly.

I’ve changed my controls to have the left analog stick work like it used to back in NBA2K13 and since then have not been able to alley oop at all. Any chance you know the fix?

I’ve tried the alley oops on the Xbox 360 and all my guy does is stop to shoot.

Because somebody has to be highlighted when you pass it to them, and when you press the buttons THEY HAVE TO BE RUNNING FOR IT ALREADY. You can’t just press them and they run to it to alley.

I’m having the same problem, I changed my pro stick to shoot first and hold L2 to dribble, and trying to press L2 and square to throw a oop doesn’t work. Much needed help, only thing in the game I haven’t figuredt out yet.
